Music Instruction

At the heart of the Musical Suite's program is its individual instruction. Private study with a professional teacher and a commitment to daily practice are the essential elements necessary for realizing one's potential as a musician. Teachers work one on one with students of all ages and levels helping them attain their musical goals. Private instruction is offered Monday - Saturday throughout the year for piano, guitar, bass guitar, violin, saxophone, clarinet, flute, trumpet, trombone, recorder, voice, harp, musical composition and songwriting.

Group Instruction

Music Analysis & Composition

Music appreciation is dependent upon active listening through ear training and some basic music theory. This class will expose students to well known composer's works, music composition, and the fundamentals of ear training, which is key to becoming an accomplished musician.

Quick Start Guitar

This beginner’s class introduces students to basic guitar techniques, simple notation and group playing in a friendly and encouraging environment. By learning a variety of simple songs designed to focus on a particular element of guitar playing, students will gain an understanding of basic skills, along with the inspiration to further develop their music making.

Rock/Blues/Jazz Ensemble

This class is designed to explore the fundamentals of blues, rock and jazz.  Students will have an opportunity to develop or improve improvisational skills while learning to interact with other students. Students should have at least one year of lessons on their instrument and be able to read music.  All ages are welcome!

Summer Semester - Call for more details

A Cappella Vocal Chorus

Students will use a cappella music to learn the basics of harmony, theory, ensemble singing and song arranging. Songs learned will draw from Rock, Pop, R&B, Jazz and Classical styles. All members of the group will have the opportunity to sing a solo if they desire. This experience will be a great introduction into a genre that is hugely popular at the college level. At the end of the session, students will have the opportunity to perform live, building confidence and stage presence for their later endeavors.

String Ensemble

This class is for Violin, Viola and Cello students. Meet new friends as you experience what it’s like to play in a group. Enjoy the opportunity to perform for your family and friends.

Music Listening Sampler for Classical Music or Opera

Explore the realm of classical music with composers such as Bach, Mozart and Beethoven. Or, introduce yourself to famous arias by Puccini, Rossini, Verdi and more. Both 6-week classes are designed for teens and adults. Students will receive a complimentary CD with each class.
