Music Instruction

At the heart of the Musical Suite’s program is its individual instruction. Private study with a professional teacher and a commitment to daily practice are the essential elements necessary for realizing one’s potential as a musician. Teachers work one on one with students of all ages and levels helping them attain their musical goals. Private instruction is offered Monday - Saturday throughout the year for piano, guitar, bass guitar, violin, saxophone, clarinet, flute, trumpet, trombone, recorder, voice, harp, musical composition and songwriting.

Group Instruction

Let the Music Begin

Music appreciation is dependent upon active listening through ear training and some basic music theory. This class will expose students to well known composer’s works, music composition, and the fundamentals of ear training, which is key to becoming an accomplished musician.

Fall/Spring Semester

Songwriting Workshop for Adults

This new workshop is designed to enhance songwriting skills by deepening students’ understanding of lyric, melody, chord and song structures. Students will create new ideas and improve existing songs through a variety of activities and positive, constructive feedback.

Summer Semester

Quick Start Guitar

This beginner’s class introduces students to basic guitar techniques, simple notation and group playing in a friendly and encouraging environment. By learning a variety of simple songs designed to focus on a particular element of guitar playing, students will gain an understanding of basic skills, along with the inspiration to further develop their music making.

Summer Semester

Jazz Ensemble

This class is designed to help students develop improvisational skills in the jazz idiom. Students should have previous training at an intermediate level in their instrument. Repertoire will include jazz standards and original works. There will be a live performance at the end of the semester.
